Quick and Easy Anchors Away Mixed Media Home Decor Frame

“Love Anchors the Soul” is this quick and easy Anchors Away Mixed Media Home Decor Project. Create this project with the SR-090 Anchor Contour™ Steel Rule Die and the Platinum 6™ machine to cut the mat board and start mixing your media! Let’s show you how…


  1. Die-cut SR-090 Anchor Contour™ Steel Rule Die from mat board by placing mat board on die and sandwich between 2 cutting plates. Cut with the Platinum 6™ machine
  2. Paint one coat of brown acrylic to anchor.
  3. Apply shading to bottom of anchor using navy blue paint.
  4. Brush aqua paint onto piece of white cardstock; place paint side on top of Anchor and lift up. Allow to dry.
  5. Apply Distress Ink to Mixed Media Paper using T-001 Tool ‘n One™ and its Circle Foam Applicator.
  6. Flick water onto inked paper with mister or by wetting hands and shaking on top of paper. Allow to dry.
  7. Dip stiff brush into a bit of water and blue ink or paint and splatter across background.
  8. String charm onto hemp twine and around anchor; adhere in place using glue dots.
  9. Attach anchor to mixed-media piece with glue dots.
  10. Attach red tape to frame. Peel back liner of tape and place finished artwork onto area.
